For whom and why?
Everyone wants to age comfortably and healthily. Archipel is a healthcare institution with several locations in the Brainport region. They offer a wide range of options for seniors, from support for independent living to intensive nursing home care. The Archipel Eerdbrand location accommodates people with various care needs, such as dementia or a gerontopsychiatric (chronic psychiatric) condition.
Archipel strives for the ultimate goal: growing old together happily, with independence, participation, and purpose as its guiding principles. Due to the pressure on healthcare and budget cuts, some activities are not possible. Simply because there's not enough time and residents often need one-on-one support.
That's where you can make a difference. With your dedication and time, you'll bring a smile to these people's faces and give them some extra vitamin A from attention.
What are you going to do?
After a warm welcome, you'll get to work preparing the high tea with your colleagues. One person will make the tea, another will set the tables, and another will prepare the snacks. This way, you'll divide the tasks between you! Around lunchtime, the seniors arrive, and you'll enjoy this delicious high tea together. Over a delicious cup of tea and treats, some seniors will tell you endless stories about the past, while others will quietly enjoy the time together.
Practical information
To help alleviate the Archipel Eerdbrand fire, we ask volunteers to do their grocery shopping in advance. You'll receive a grocery list and budget from us. You can submit your grocery bill to us afterward.
